Sorry, couldn't help but have some fun.. ;^)
Since you are into jewelry, not sure if you have a gem library but I'd suggest using some of the 3D data from Rhino3D..

(btw, in Rhino3D, you can convert DXF polygon models into NURBS surfaces using the MeshToNURB command.)
