SWW2006 home

As some of you already know, I am home and had a wonderful time. I met with several SW employees, got to meet some of you, and learned a lot. As I did last year, I will compile all of my 11 pages of notes into something readable by the masses and let you know where to find it.

But, I just have to tell you... As most of you know, I firmly believe in hotkeys and as such have become the keeper of the list. Well, during the User Interface discussion meeting, I voiced my requests for a better interface. Well, my perseverance paid off - I got to see some major changes in the hotkey user interface in SW2007. If I told you what exactly I saw, I would have to shoot you, so I won't. Just suffice it to say that I really like the major improvements in the management of the hotkeys.

Thanks for your perseverance, Wayne!

On a personal note, I'm glad we finally got to meet face to face. I wish we could have had some time to sit down and talk.

Jerry Steiger Tripod Data Systems "take the garbage out, dear"

Agreed - time was the hottest commodity there - everyone had the same amount and just had to figure out how to best use it. Thanks for showing up at the SWUGN meeting.

Well I got to visit with Wayne again and meet Jerry for the first time. I was surprised how few from the newsgroup were able to recognize Red Craftsman Suspenders. I would have liked to meet a lot more. Strangely the suspenders got me some good conversations with people who have no connection to the newsgroup including someone who runs a school for pipefitters who was wondering if 3D CAD had any application there. Who knows, I might have sold a seat. Now Jerry, you didn't look all that hen-pecked. :)
