Help! Has anyone found a source for pictures or drawings of endsills with hook and chain coupling on pre Civil War rollingstock? This is needed for research to develop a topic on the site. Any help would be appreciated.

Search the patent database for patents in class 213, Railway Draft Appliances. You can view the schedule online to determine which subclass will most likely have what you want.

At a guess, pre-Civil War hook drawgear would be similar to that used in the UK, so perhaps that would be an avenue worth exploring...
