Sure, Nazi Germany, Japan 1941, the USa ...

to be wrong then it isn't the current

You have so little faith in current technology!

The problem with that theory is that the easily recoverable oil is almost all found and the oil yet to be discovered is less accessable. Pumping oil from ever increasing depths costs more, not less and pumping technology hasn't got a lot further to go.

are fundamentalist Moslems - ie diametrically

So you're prepared to saddle a nation with a horrific dictator for several decades while it suits you, but the urgency to remove him comes down to weeks when the situation no longer suits you - hmmm - that sounds like _you_ are the problem and not the dictator!

What utter crap - al Qaeda operatives might (unproven) have been being trained within the borders of Iraq but the only "terrorist training camp" you yanks destroyed was one training operatives _against_ Hussein.

"Weeks" was the period quoted.

The US terms were "catch 22" - "prove that the WMDs you claim not to exist were destroyed".

Only because you are both arrogant and stupid! (I'll explain those adjectives which are intended to be accurate rather than insulting) Hussein's Iraq was surrounded by neighbours waiting for opportunities to invade or retaliate. Hussein's military was at it's lowest level. (as evidenced by the ease with which you beat them) Hussein's non-compliance with UN requirements left open the possibility that he had WMDs hidden and the US kept up that pretence, which kept those neighbours at bay.

So; you have Hussein proving that he has no WMDs and minimal military force more or less inviting his neighbours to invade, or, Hussein keeping up a pretense, aided by the USa, for a decade with the remote possibility that you might elect a warmonger for president.

So, you're utterly arrogant for thinking that you were Hussein's only potential enemy, in spite of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Now, if you can figure out why you were also stupid, then perhaps I've misjudged you.

no-one wants to know.

Trust me, the companies that could produce it don't want to.

what you do but it's your paranoia that

That's a pretty good indication! What about the other half million victims of your retribution? Are you suggesting that all Afghanis and all Iraqis would fly planes into your sky scrapers if they had the chance?

Well, yes you did.

Have any of those people imposed dictatorial governments on you?

You attacked Afghanistan because of the actions of some individuals from Jordan and Saudi Arabia! If you can cite a nation because of the actions of individuals who weren't even citizens, then I can cite a nation for the actions of it's citizens.

We're going one less step than you.

I can guarentee the withdrawal of all Iraqi based multinationals and Iraqi controlled puppet government officials from the US immediately - ok, your move!

When are you going to get around to it?

Use your own oil resources only, and I'll stop worrying about when you're going to use up my share!

Since when do you get a share? Is this some sort of Socialist concept? Has OPEC been informed?

Aha! I think we've found the root of your confusion. In America, an individual is responsible for his own morality. The Government fails miserably every time it tries to legislate morality.

Does the Government of New Zealand tell you how to act and think?

Well, we like to give everyone a chance to show their intentions before we come calling with H.E....

Huh? What did Europe have that the U.S. needed? You lost me there, buddy...

Wrong-o, mate. The oil in Iraq belongs to the peole of Iraq, as explicitly stated by the U.S. Government.

Did you read what he wrote? He said "families of" the terrorists. That's who got the money, a fact which was abundantly clear to the terrorist in his or her pre-molecular dispersal state.

What a deal - Heaven and 72 virgins (yes, I know it's really raisins or something) and the family back home is amply cared for. What better way to leave the planet?

Nope. Again, false. The terms were Open and free access to all properties by UN inspectors. Access which was denied. If you have nothing to hide, why hide it? When hte whole world is on your doorstep asking to come in and have a look around, the only reason to deny access is because you think the UN are a bunch of wimps who will not follow up on their threat. Possibly, but irrelevant. Would he have used WMDs on his neighbors? Is that what youa re saying? Do you think we should have sttod by for that/ The UN would have protected him from his neighbors had he complied...

which you beat them)

Nope - yet another fallacy. The factors which led to the downfall of the Iraqi military are rooted in the idea that every dollar spent on a Presidential Palace cannot be spent on defence against one's neoghbors. That, and the most well-trained and best equipped military force in the world cannot be stopped by anyone. For better or worse, that's a fact.

Well, no. I suppose New Zealand would sit idly by and watch him use chemical and nuclear weapons on his neighbors (and his own subjects) but we cannot.

What half-million victims? Are you prepared to show me their graves? I hear this sort of propaganda al the time, but we are never shown any evidence. Do you think for one microsecond that if a half-million people died at the hands of the US Government in the last twenty years that CNN (the network that was prepared to reveal US troop positions live around the globe to our enemies during active combat) would hesitate for a second to show us each and every last grave? Don't you think those half-million, if they existed, would be on the cover of Time, Newsweek, and the New York Times? Or are you saying htat the conspiracy goes wider than that - is it that I am the only one on the continent ~not~ in on the secret, but sworn to silence by men in black?

Honestly, Greg, sometimes I think you truly are a troll, because no matter what evidence you have laid in front of you, if it counters your position it is cheerfully ignored by you, and you throw out some even wilder proposition that you read on a website somewhere. And I feel stupid, for taking you at your word for so long, that you really believed all this. Now it is finally dawning on me that you believe watever flies out of your fingertips - and that's all well and good for you, but it's a waste of my time.

Well, I'm taking my Doritos bag and going home. You'll find me in the basement, recreating the world of my youth, which was not quite so small...
