The C&O called the 2-8-4 a Kanawah and the 4-8-4 a Greenbriar. To further confuse the issue, the 2-8-4 was class K-4, while class K-1,2,3, and 5 were all
2-8-2s. The Greenbriar was class J-3, while the J-1 and J-2s were Mountains. All class Hs were articulated, but were 2-6-6-2, 2-8-8-2, or 2-6-6-6. Gene ABV61-1043.001.HCB
