Two Union Pacific coal trains derail, spill loads
FREMONT, Neb. -- Union Pacific says two coal trains crashed into each other in Nebraska, dumping
their loads and four-thousand gallons of diesel fuel.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says officials are investigating how a train heading to Waukegan
(Illinois) rear-ended a train heading to Clinton, Iowa, yesterday. Both trains were heading east
from Wyoming.
Davis says six rail cars left the tracks and dumped their loads west of Fremont, Nebraska.
Some crew members suffered non-life threatening injuries.
