The layout is 11x28, but benchwork has varied in width so as to make more demands on the creative aspects of the hobby. Detailing a narrow section takes a different approach than doing a much deeper area of the same layout. The 5-6" deep section (probably more like 6" deep) makes use of cloud stencils, a Walther's backdrop with the sky removed that has been reduced in size and lightly misted with white or gray to introduce atmpospheric "haze", and very shallow half-buildings blended into the background.
