OT - Shopping Around

Looking for 5 new wheel rims for the new trailer, we tried various sources, most expensive was £33.00 each plus VAT, average was £24.00 including VAT, both with delivery extra.

Best we found was £17.50 each plus carriage (for 5 rims it was £22.00)

These were German product, brand new and the delivery was overnight, got them today.

Tyres are next, best so far is £34.50 each for 175R13 8pr. Any improvement?

1609lbs @ 65psi per tyre.

We run ours at 50psi normally.

Thanks, I'm looking to replace mine but need about 800kg per tyre and the forklift truck tyres it came with aren't speed rated, though they met current regulations when built. There's nothing wrong with them, just 20 years old! So I'm having to consider replacing both axles and wheels.

Land Rover wheels and tyres would meet that quite easily, and you can get Indespension and other makes of beam axles with that arrangement for the wheels.

Only problem is the chassis height with that size of tyre (750X16)

The low profile wheels and tyres offered now are quite nice, but the tyres are relatively expensive and more a target for thieves because of that.

Our tyres are in, just waiting for the wheels to be shot blasted and Zinc sprayed before powder coating.

Chassis is under way, hope to have it available when we get back from holidays.
