00 wheel back-to-back

Can anybody tell me what the correct/standard wheel back to back measurement is for 00/4mm locos and wagons please? Cheers Gene

Usually 14.3mm to 14.5mm.... One magazine used to state Lima as 14.3mm.... You could try using a wheel-setting guage (Mainly Trains).

There isn't one. I recommend you pick one of the extant measures and stick to it, regauging or replacing non-conforming wheels as needed. Other posters have pointed you to useful sites, I see. Good luck!

I apologise to Jerry and those interested in this thread, as his measurement of the back to back dimension is correct for Romford wheels and it complies with the old BMRSB standard as published in other posts in this thread.. My web page on the subject has died, so I have decided to update it. I remeasured an old Romford wheel, which is at least 15 years old, back to back was 14.5mm.
