We have one of the original N gauge versions - very effective.

The vacuum cleaner removes a surprising amount of dirt from the track.

I found that with this one from this firm which I obtained about 2 years ago.

scrubs the rails or overhead line if you wish.

I came across them after seeing the N gauge car mentioned. Finding that no version for16.5mm track was available I purchased the Lux

-modellbrau ones .I had never heard of the firm before and I don't think many have. Indeed one of the model mags reviewers stated the Dapol machine was a first for 00/H0. I did Email them to say I already had an H0 vacuum cleaner car from a firm in mainland Europe but never got the courtesy of a reply.

Very interesting site but they should have paid more for the translation service. This bit, for example, comes from the point motor page: "Due to the constructional condition of the drive lateral placing wire deductions are realizable." ??

Indeed ,and when I ordered mine the only on line dealer who had them on a website was a French stockist. My German is non existent and my French very limited. I described what I wanted partly using googles Translator. I was most relieved when the Postman arrived with the parcel containing the H0 cars and not Allelys heavy haulage delivering a Plasser and Theurer rail grinder.

Only mistake I had was getting the scrubber car already equipped for DCC ,which did not matter as I was experimenting with a DCC controler any way.

They do cost more than the Dapol one but the scrubber for instance has self charging batteries on board so it does not stall on the dirty track it is cleaning.

I know what you mean. I have the N gauge Dapol and the loco struggles badly if you use the abrasive cleaner. It is OK with the liquid until you have been round once and then it starts slipping like mad on lap two. I haven't yet tried the vacuum cleaner. Jumping back to translation. Years ago I had a moped made by Steyr Daimler Puch and the manual, amongst other weird things, had a section on "Lubrifying the vehicle".

What's wrong with that? Haven't you seen those videos of Evel Knievel sitting on his bike facing backwards? "Do not do this at home, children!"
