Bachmann N class loco wobbles

Hello everybody. I just recieved my mail-ordered Bachmann N class loco...and it wobbles like a duck as it rolls down the track....I can't see an obvious cause...is this a common problem with this paticular loco model that I'll have to live with or is there a fix for it. Cheers Gene

Typical of the occasional Bachmann loco produced for the UK or USA - your email address suggests you're in North America. I'm afraid the only easy (maybe not easy in your case) is to return it to the seller for exchange.

It's *probably* a wheel quartering problem, so I suppose you could remove all of the valve gear and check ther quartering of each wheel set and try adjusting where appropriate. Either that or a wheel isn't round, or valve gear catching.

It's one reason why we test every loco which we sell before selling & shipping. It eliminates problems like that in 99.9% of cases.
