Sadly the Thomas the Tank push-along models are now 'new and improved', very toy like, no longer suitable for modification into usable models (I have seen a couple of the engines converted to 009 which worked rather well) - Sadly the Bulstrode 'barge' is also no longer available, if you model N Gauge it would be worth picking up any you find and salting them away, its easy to modify into a range of small (100 ton or so) ship types.
