Doncaster Station and Hull Trains' cunning plan

It has appeared in the railway press and on this group, but not in the Hull Trains website, that the plan to cover for the broken Pioneer consists of running 86101+5xmk3+dvt for the Kings Cross - Doncaster section to be met by a Pioneer at Doncaster, with cross platform interchange, for the trip onward to Hull.

Can anyone explain how this will work in practice please? When are platform pairs 1&3, likewise platforms 4&8 both free for any significant time to allow this to happen. Also, where would the 86 set layover at the north end of the station, and less critically the Pioneer at the south end.

Waiting for a platform at Doncaster currently is commonplace, particularly for trains from Sheffield and the Kirk Sandall line. Will this manouvre be possible?
