GNER on West Coast

Oct 11, 2005 5 Replies

Travelling up the A74(M) just north of Moffat on Saturday morning at 10.18 I was amazed to see a GNER train hurtling south to Carlisle. Looked wonderful in that colour scheme against the hills. Anyone know what it was doing there?

Ken.

Due to Saturday closures of Edinburgh-Newcastle, GNER have been running services Edinburgh -> Carlisle -> Newcastle and return, using HSTs.

Have to be in Carlisle tomorrow, will look out for one, thanks.

Ken.

ICBW but I think last Saturday was the last in a series of Saturday diversions.

Nothing running through this morning except local stuff from the G&SW route. Station full of diesel fumes from the Virgins waiting for passengers being bussed down after the floods earlier this week.
