Loco Storage

Anybody know where I could get the equivalent to this in the UK

Except by ordering the Walthers one of course. Assuming that anything in the UK will be long enough to take American locos. Anybody who know American steam locos will know the loco connects to the tender with an infuriating little plug and socket.

How about:

Though not on the website, they have advertised a Park-N-Go and Park-N-Stack storage cases in the N gauge journal. The former is a plastic case with closed foam insert for £35, the latter a plastic box with lid, and four stackable trays inside for £75. I see no reason why they wouldn't produce versions for other scales.

That said, I would get a cheap flight case from B&Q (or similar), and several sheets of closed cell foam and cut my own to fit the case and models.

buy from Walthers regularly and can order one for you. I asked them about something similar recently and they reckoned that depending on where in the order/transport cycle they are it takes between 1 and 3 weeks assuming the itme is in stock in the US.

That's true but at $16 is it worth the effort. Even given that there must be delivery seems a bargain. Just wondered if the equivalent was availabe here rather than getting it all the way from the States, also given that anything here probably isn't quite as large.. I know that Model Motors in Bourne End also orders from Walthers.

I haven't heard of these people before. I know about Model Motors in Bourne End. Seems strange that two US suppliers should be so close to each other. I wonder if they are connected in some way.

That appears to be for N gauge, whereas the OP's original link was to the Walthers HO storage box...

The specific railway box was yes, but a brief perusal of the site shows they sell the foam solid in various, ready for you to make your own sized compartments customised to your needs.
