If there are any owners of scrap mainline model locos (UK outline) who would like to dispose of them I would be very pleased to acquire them
- for a suitable price. This is to attempt a prolongement of life for some of mine. All emails will be answered.
There's some discussion on this from threads started on 1/10/06.
Unfortunately as most mainline locos seem to suffer from the same problems, making a good one from several broken ones isn't [in many cases] particularly practical.
The bachmann chassis range is designed to solve this particular case, but they are not without their problems.

Thanks for the reply Craig, I guess that my experience tells me that but as my lter post says: I can not find anyone who is stocking Bachmann spares neither can I identify their older models easily. Bachmann at leicester said that they might be able to help but avoided telling me which dealers were carrying spares.
I ordered a GW mogul chassis from Soton Model Centre over 3 months ago to replace a mainline but there is total inactivity on that front.

To help identify older locomotives, typing in details into ebay and google will usually reveal the information you need on the loco.
Bachmann do spares directly for most models manufactured.
