Tri-ang Power bogie

Does anyone know of a source of new wheel and gearsets for the old Tri-ang EM2 power bogie? A significant number of my existing ones I suspect have been worn oval (the plastic gear wheel). I am aware of the very nice Ultrascale items but they are way too slippery to allow the loco to gain traction so want to avoid them. Halfway house would be a replacement axle and gear to use the existing Tri-ang wheels I guess (I'm using code 100 track).

Thanks in advance

A friend of mine converted the Blue Pullman power bogie by just changing the wheels to the current Hornby type, ala the HST type. Works well, and no, we didn't use traction tyres. One motor struggles with half the set up my incline, but the two power cars "romp" away up the hill with a 6 car Midland set-up.

Otherwise I can recommend changing the wheels.

Hi.

This is probably not the answer you are looking for but if you have or can obtain some of the old steel axles with gear fitted then you can push fit 'Mike Sharman Diesel wheels'. They come in several sizes. Match the size to the old wheels you have removed.

Best of luck.

The triang 37 and 31 used to have same power bogie just diffrent frames. I would look out at toy fairs for a good one and swap parts, you shoul get one cheap enough .

Many thanks for all the replies. I think the modelspares option is possibly the first port of call.

Thanks
