Zone alarm is useless against this worm. It shuts down most well known fire walls, including Zone Alarm, and Black Ice. It also tries to shut down most popular anti virus programs.

just to be safe I uninstalled my AVG by grisoft and then reinstalled it from the site and ran it right after I installed it again(after updating). that was just to make sure my old copy was not corrupt.

Rod: Non sequitur.

Rod: Now your talking! :) So if I have my daily updated anti virus software running when I get this virus, the virus will disable my anti virus software? More than likely, no.

Rod: No need to. Panda updates everyday automatically. Norton may not. I know they didn't used to. Maybe they still do not. Regardless, once again non sequitur. Since I advocated Panda and updating daily. ;) The point I am making buddy is that if you have the virus def. in your AV def. file and your scanner is good, you are unlikely to have the virus disable your anti virus software. Do you see what I am saying?

I meant that he should go to the Norton site for information on the worm.
