Portable band saw.

Anyone here familiar with the Greenlee 531 portable band saw? How reliable are they and what would be a reasonable cost now.I see there are several on EBay. Thanks.

I have owned one for 20 years. Great machine. They were made by Porter Cable. The only downside is you have to special order the blades. They are a few inches longer than the blades used by all the current portable bandsaws.

53-3/4" vs 44-7/8" Any bandsaw blade shop can make them up.

Think of it this way - you can get some wood cutting blades for the work on 4x4's and stuff. Metal blades for metal.

Then the saw can be spread across a number of jobs.
