Pulsed AC for TIG

I've come across a used Tig welder (its pretty new, however) with Pulsed DC but no Pulsed AC.

of you who have a Pulse option.. do you find that you use it alot? is it extremely helpful? would it make sense to invest in a tig machine with only pulsed DC and not pulsed AC?

thanks,

That is kind of odd.

Where pulsers really come in handy is long continuous seams in sheet metal, or really clean pipe and tube welds.

I use mine all the time, but I am kind of funny that way.

ernie-- is that the case for Pulsed AC? if i get the pulse option, and get to like it, i'd hate to be limited in the future to only DC pulse.

i'd probably be doing aluminum tubing (2-3mm) more than sheet, if any.

thanks

The pulser isn't necessary, but sure is nice.

What machine is this?

its a Cemont TXH 250 AC/DC

that link should go right to the page. if it comes up in italian, there is an "ENG" toggle at the top of the page.

sorry.. the link won't take you right to the machine.. select "Products" .. then "TIG" .. then TXH250AC/DC

Interesting machine, but it states nothing about the pulser. I can't figure out why they would allow pulsing in DC but not AC. If anything pulsers are even more useful for AC than DC.

I like the fact that at least in europe the larger inverters have built in water cooling. That is something Miller could learn about.
