TIG brazing technique

Ernie,Should the motion be a "push" or "pull" when trying to TIG braze?It is a push when TIG welding, but I have been taught, and alwaysdone, brazing as a pull operation with an O/A torch. Tried a push,and it didn't work very well. It would just sort of glob on, and Ikept contaminating my tungsten. Doing it as a pull seemed to workpretty well, but I still had a little trouble with the filler meltingand blobing onto the work. I think my filler might be too small so itmelts way to easily(1/16) running at 25 amps for 0.040 fillet welds.Chuckle at the newbie: My first couple attempts were absolutelyhorrible. All I could get was big blobs of crusty black stuff thatwouldn't stick to anything. Then it dawned on me, forgot to crack thevalve on the tank. Oops. :)JW

This response is being dictated, since, when I look at my computer screen, all I see is a floating dark blob with bright edges. My question is, "Was that some kind of a cruel joke, or did I miss something?"

some oone over on rec.motorcycles.tech posted a reference to this group this morning in reply to a fellow wanting (with absolutely no previous welding experience) to build/mod his own frame.

this OP has obviously been drinking too much Harley oil....
