Following the theme I started earlier with "What is the COOLEST thingyou ever made" post. I would like to know what is the coolest or mostuseful or unique tool you ever made.I am interested in seeing some of the tools people make because theycan;t afford to buy or because what they want does not exist.I made a 25 ton hydraulic press that I use to make damascus forknifemaking.What have you people done. I made a spotting dolly for my trailers. It has a handle out of 3" pipe(about 4 feet long with "T" grips at the top) a trailer ball, and two smallwheels at the bottom. I can easily roll it over to my boat or utilitytrailer, pry it upright (inserting the ball into the receiver), and maneuverthe trailer in tight quarters by hand.While not an original idea (I saw some "cheesy" ones at the boatyard anddesigned my own heavy duty version from what I saw) it is DEFINITELY one ofthe handiest "tools" in my shop.Larry WagerOffering No cost web solutionsfor Non Profit Organizations"Just a welding hobbyist"

I got some pretty heavy adhesive backed Teflon tape from Boeing Surplus. Works very well for that sort of thing. Easy to apply and if you wrap it around the ends, you won't catch the edge and peel it off. Sorry, don't know any other suppliers but they must exist.
