so, how does this work, i am going to be contacting a instructor at the local flying field, but im wondering if thay are going to want money. if you were teaching someone to fly, would you charge a hourly rate?

It's not likely... Few clubs charge to teach a newbie to fly...

BUT, there aren't too many guys who would turn down the offer of a "free" gallon of fuel for the privilege of helping you learn to fly ;-)
