I have an Airtronics VG4R FM transmitter. It has a R/CMA AMA gold sticker on the bottom dated 12/88. It works fine, but I just want to be sure if it's ok to use. Thanks all.

Just an extra note. It operates on 72.270 MHz.
Since it has that gold sticker, it is legal to use.
Yes, it is legal. You may want to cycle the battery to make sure it won't go flat on you mid-flight, though!
It's legal, but I'd recommend that you send it to Radio South to have it throroughly checked out. After all this time, even just sitting, it can drift a little off frequency and they will also check out the battery (probably junk). That's cheap insurance if you decide to start using this radio again.
