When applying the color coat with a detail gun, in a place or two I have got a little sag in the covering like its needing shrunk again. I took the heat gun and carefully shrank it back without any harm to my finish.
Why is this happening? too much thinner ? too heavy a coat ?
any help appreciated.

you said "Koverall adds no strength to the frame of a model, simply fills in the gaps - to add strength, use Oracover (aka Ultracote & Profilm). "
I am not sure I agree with that... as Koverall is obviously stronger than any plastic film. Or at least what I have read states as so.

Koverall definitely adds strength to the framework. The fabric is adhered to every point of the wood it touches with adhesive and dope that saturates both materials.
Monokote only adheres to the edges of the wood and even then just on the surface.

"Koverall definitely adds strength to the framework" - Yes, when doped on, but that was not the original question. Sorry, on rereading my earlier post it is misleading as regarding the addition of strength. The strength of Koverall depends entirely on how the Koverall is applied and sealed i.e. whether it is doped on and weave filled with dope to make a tight skin or whether the weave is filled with wall paper size, pva or similar other methods before being painted. textile finishes will still sag (expand) in damp weather unless coated both sides and thoroughly sealed. Solartex and other similar iron on fabrics which do not require doping and painting, fill in the gaps and add strength usually in one direction only. Those fabric materials do not prevent the amount of flexing and twisting in flight that properly applied and doped tissue (like a skin of wood) or Oracover (aka Profilm, Ultracote) does. Oracover is more like an aluminium skin and is much easier to apply and generally longer lasting. A number of 1/4 & 1/3 scale models remain in my shed on which the above has been tested a number of times. regards Alan T. Alan's Hobby, Model & RC Web Links
