Ski's for a Senior Telemaster...

I am planning to buy a Senior Telemaster this winter and I don't want to have to wait until Spring to fly it here in East/Central Illinois. Has anyone put ski's on one? If so, did you make them or buy them and where did you get them. Also, I would like recommendations on cameras that can be used, video and still. Thanks, Clyde

Du-Bro SnoBird skis work perfectly on my World Models Super Frontier Sr. (similar to a Sr. Telemaster).

Bob:

How are those skis attached? I have skis but no mounting hardware for them. What kind of hardware do I need to mount them. Is a close-up of the mounting available? I would be putting them on a Hobbistar 60 for starters.

Harlan,

The skis use an interesting method of attachment that makes them secure, keeps them level, and allows them to pivot on the axle and return to level position. I don't have a close-up photo of it and they aren't currently mounted on the model. Du-Bro's site doesn't show it either....

Basically, the skis mount on your current 5/16" gear axle. They have another sort of "torsion spring" that attaches to the ski and goes along side your gear leg, secured with a short length of plastic tubing. It's very hard for me to describe and difficult to imagine. Anyway, they work well.

Bob, I'll be checking the web for ideas regarding mounting the skis, and the first place I'll be looking (actually, the second, because I've already checked Dubro) will be Alan's site. Obviously he has something to contribute to 99% of our issues.

Thanks for the ideas you provided above.

RC Universe used to sell these World Models Super Frontier Sr. but no longer carry them. Do you know who is selling these World Models now. Doc Ferguson

I have some videos of the Dubro skis on a Clipped wing Cub and an Autogyro doing touch-n-go's in the snow here:

The Sr. seems a little pricey at $189 USD, but I've been flying mine for almost six years and would replace it immediately if something happened to it.
