Converting from lat/lon to cartesian coordinate system? Program?

Mar 03, 2005 1 Replies

I know this might not be the ideal place to ask this but I'm sure many people here know of or have use a program/method to do this.

I found a few sites on the internet to do this conversion but none that will allow me to assign (0,0) on the fly.

I have a set of coordinates that I need to input into a modeling/simulation program. The origin needs to change relative to each scenario.

For instance, I need to make N999 W999 (imaginary lat/lon) to 0,0. Then I need to find the X,Y coordinates of another location at S999 W999 relative to the new origin.

Anyone know of software that will allow me to do this?

Thanks, Eric
