Logically, you can accomplish the same thing by getting a gadget that takes one USB connect and makes it into 4 connections. Since this is routinely done, the answer is YES.
It should work. A USB hub can multiplex a number of devices onto a single USB bus. Your device would look like a hub with two USB devices attached.
