USB BOE-BOT Linux support

Hi all,

I'm new to this group, although I'm excited to see all that is being done. I'm just barely getting into robotics, and am excited as well to see what I'm creating myself. I'm no n00b to linux, programming, or Google groups, and I've searched high and low for this answer, but to no avail.

I bought myself a BOE-Bot to start learning about microprocessor programming, etc. However, the serial one looks to be going extinct, so to hurry on shipping I bought a USB version. Now that it's hear, I've assembled a large part of it, and I find out that there seems to be not linux support for the USB version. I don't have a serial port on my laptop (although the new dev box I'm creating just for stuff like this does...) so buying a USB-Serial Adaptor isn't really an option. Blah! Does anyone know of a good reference to take a look at to find a solution. I want my robot!

Thanks, Paul

The BOE-Bot just uses the USB version of the Board of Education dev kit, so perhaps someone has a solution they've already created. The forum has a search feature...just be sure to go back at least a year to gfet the relevent posts, if any.
