Ya Gotta love Fords

called to my local dealer about a car that the door lock was not working.. an 06 Lincoln Town Car..brand new, not even delivered yet... they had a key but it wouldnt work.. got the door open, and since it was aa warranty item, they ordered a new door lock-only has one lock..(was the right key, BTW)

by parts, got the right lock, but it wasnt.. they had to call Ford Corporate to get the RIGHT part number..

oh, its on back order, we will let you know WHEN we get it- IE- there is NO date available for delivery.. the entire country is back ordered on these..

(PS, the lock looked EXACTLY like one for a 98 and newer, door, with sensor provisions on it, EXCEPT it was chromed on the shell and plug..)

PPS.. a bent wafer spring, from when it was assembled..

TODAY, called back again.. 2 MORE Ford vehicles this time.. an 03 pickup and a 99.. BOTH with door locks that wont work..

took them 7 years to fix the Focus ignition, wonder how many more it will be on the doors???LOL

I don't know which half brained penny pinching idiot decided to put a keyhole on just the one side of the car. But I sure hope I never have to buy one. Such idiocy.

BTW..the NEW Ford, AND GM locks dont have brass wafers any more either.. anodized aluminum for the new Ford.. and Stratec is sending the same for the GM 10 cut locks now.
