XRD line broadening

Hello I am looking for reference(s) on XRD line broadening in estimating particle sizes. Does anyone know of a good text or website?

Thanks

Hi there, Numerous references are available for estimating the particle size. However, you might want to check out some books that will provide you more fundamental understanding. Some of them are Principles of X-ray Diffraction by B. D. Cullity and there is another book I don't know the name exactly but it is practical applications of X-ray Diffraction by C. Suryanarayana. The second book gives good practical examples and some work study. Hope it helps

Thanks

As previously suggested "Principles of X-ray Diffraction" by Cullity is probably your best text reference. There is a good writeup on Sherrer's Equation for estimating particle size from line broadening. Remember this only applies to particles less than 100nanometers. A laser light scattering system will give you more quantitative results if particle size is your ultimate goal, but Sherrer's equation can be a useful tool when used appropriately.

This is a short article that should help you out for the time being.
