I believe that ASA=3DAmerican Standards Assoc. =96 the precursor to ANSI (American National Standards Institute). My guess is that the ASA =BE-12 thread should be a =93standard=94 =BE 12UN thread as listed in your Machinery Handbook. Dremel made a small woodworking lathe (Moto Lathe) with this mount and the plastic nose piece on their Dremel tool is supposed to be that size. You can buy a chuck adapter:
