greets folks, have been shopping for a new (larger) air compressor for the shop and i think i found one. will have a look at it this weekend. am hoping to pick up some pointers on what to look for (ie potential problems).
its relatively big (to me) ... 100 gallons i think ... it has two standard piston compressors and two motors (one for each compressor).
owner tells me he recently changed one of the compressors (in fact it looks new) and that it 'runs like a charm'. though he tells me that it makes alot of noise because its the 'old style' and he's upgraded to a screw-type compressor.
to be honest, other than just firing the thing up, and checking to see that it delivers some air, i'm not sure how to make a good evaluation of its condition.
kick the tires?
thanks,
-tony
