In a discussion last night, a person mentioned seeing an article 45 or
50 years ago (1950's Popular Mechanics?) about building a two-wheel motorized trailer that actually pushed the bicycle it was attached to. He further noted that he seemed to remember the point of attachment being the seat post.
The more I thought about this, the more intrigued I became. It seems like a pretty good idea - you have your standard bicycle, then for times when you'd like to haul some stuff you have the trailer and built-in assistance for locomotion.
But I can't imagine the coupling arrangement at the seat post, could this actually work?
Has anyone else seen the article? I would be long before my time - I didn't start taking PM until the mid-60s.
