"Exploding Concrete" on Dallas Fwy

I said BAKE it, not warm it. 'OK' the term bake was ambiguous. For decomposition to occur, the temperature must be high enough for the water to dissociate from the hydrated crystalline mix that is concrete.

I have this vision of a large ring serving as the "cylinder", in much the same configuration as a large internal gear.

Now, the design feature I'm pondering is "Does the ring hang from the revolver, or sit on the revolver?' (Crappy Ascii graphics coming up)

======4 ( ) (_ ) \ \ or ===== 4 \ \ I know, it looks like one of the ASCII Cows of yesteryear.

Danger, now to go sketch this out and see if it is makeable.

Worse -- it looks to me as though you did it in a proportional pitch font, instead of a fixed pitch like Courier. That means that it would be rather variable even in other proportional pitch fonts, and totally scrambled in a fixed pitch one, as I'm using.

My suggestion is that it should circle around the frame and trigger guard, looping below the guard. This way, you would not have to sight through it, and I think that the balance would be better. With 30 rounds, it might be large enough to slide back around the shooter's hand. But a second hand to brace the aim would be a *bad* idea. :-)

You would also want to put some form of brace from the upper half of the frame down to support the bottom of the ring, to keep it from getting too much stress from the recoil. And a back plate to keep the rounds outside the frame from being bounced out of the cylinder.

With the right design, you could make it with interchangeable cylinders (rings?) for "quick?" reloading. :-)

I think that it *is* makable, but whether it would be worthwhile as a weapon is a different question. As a proof-of-concept, I think that it is worth it.

Certainly steer clear of the full-auto option which started this discussion, at least until you find out how it handles.

Enjoy, DoN.

Sorry about bringing up a painful subject.

Discounting the interrupts from the feds for a full-auto device unless you have jumped through all of the hoops. :-)

Enjoy, DoN.

And lo, it came about, that on 21 Aug 2003 16:14:14 -0400 in rec.crafts.metalworking , snipped-for-privacy@d-and-d.com (DoN. Nichols) was inspired to utter:

Yeah. But now I have my own set of "Hey, you want to see my pride & joy?" pictures to inflict on everyone. Digital Cameras are wonderful, just "shoot all you want, we'll colorize more electrons."

I'm looking around for a piece of heavy cloth, I'm going to sew up a tool roll for them. :-)
