FS Barnes 1880 6 X 36 lathe

Greetings! I haven't been back here for quite a while, but wanted to sell a lathe as I'm moving to a "modern" machine. The lathe is a Barnes 6 X 16, with four jaw chuck, lantern toolpost, steady rest and tailstock. It breaks down to fit in a Conestoga wagon. It's electrified, also comes with a bunch of change gears. I'm in the Twin City, MN area. $400 Bob

Amazing...... GOOGLE is your friend.

Perhaps not your machine Bob, but possibly a earlier cousin.

Grab a coffee folks, click on the various links and enjoy a half hour of interesting reading and viewing.

If only your great grandparents could come back and talk, imagine the tales they could tell.

See if you can find the old catalog ad for an 8 inch foot powered lathe for only $35.

GOOGLE - You just gotta love it to bits and pieces..... more more more

Sliding a little off topic (oh what the hey).... how about some hodgey podgey from moscow.com with love.

That one has more links than a chain link fence

Time for more coffee and a gander.... or should that be a goose.
