good reference manual

I have had, and found the Machinery's Handbook 24 Edition,, by Erik Oberg to be useful over the years. I am beginning to wonder If anyone can suggest a good supplement for this maual. Basically I'm interested for a book that kind of "Fills in the blanks". Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Vittotio

It depends on what blanks you want to fill in. There is a companion book to Machinery's Handbook, which is supposed to be some kind of how-to-use-it guide.

However -- if you want something which tells how to use the machine tools, instead, my preference is Moultrecht's two-volume _Machine Shop Practice_ -- which can be obtained from various sources, including the MSC catalog. It shows up on sale from time to time in their flyers, too.

Enjoy, DoN.
