Holdiays and Calls for Jobs?

Jun 01, 2005 1 Replies

Anyone else notice an increase in calls just prior to a holiday and then a decrease afterwards? I attribute it to the fact that people take it easy just before a holiday at big companies and have time to call me for "stuff" yet don't have much time after the holiday because they are playing catch up.

Thursday's and Friday's phone calls were more than yesterday and today...

That way they can go to the boss and say "The job's on hold, waiting for ______ to deliver parts that won't be here 'till next _______, so how about letting me have a few extra days off this weekend?"

The bosses can, then, use the same argument all the way up the chain.
