Is it fixed? OT

Guys,

My ISP has had the news group totally screwed up for me since early last spring. I was told by a fellow TDS sufferer (our ISP) that the problem may have been resolved.

Would some of you fine folks tell me if you are reading this post? Lack of response will indicate I'm still spitting in the wind.

Can't help but think you guys have missed my comments! :-) (Or not!)

Nope. Can't see a thing. Too bad about you spitting in the wind.

Sounds like TDS sucks.

Welcome back, Harold!

Just in case, you might want to jot down "nntp.aioe.org" as an alternative Usenet server that's free and doesn't require authentication.

Occasionally, however, they may, at times, take a day or so to propagate posts...

We were told that you and Susan had to leave the country for someplace in the Caribbean that didn't have extradition rights. You were last seen on a beach sipping something out of a coconut with a little umbrella sticking out.

Heh! Hard to argue with that, Brian!

Damn, you guys (all of you) sure make a guy feel welcome. Thanks! I've missed giving my often misguided opinion!

Must get back to Susan and my coconut. :-) I'll be looking for something absurd on which to comment.

Well, wondered why you'd been so quiet, now I know. I gave up on my ISP and pay $7.95 (I think) a month to GigaNews. The only problem with their service is they retain text groups like this for FIVE years, so my reader has to sort through 400,000 messages to string the threads properly every time I open the news group. That takes about a minute. But, the reliability and availability of their service is light years ahead of the contract outfit that maintained the newsgroups for my ISP, Charter. It would go down for an entire weekend, or a group like this would suddenly drop out and be restored with only 4 messages left. Stuff like that would happen every couple weeks.

Glad to see you again!

He's that guy who knows everything about how-to-grind-a lathe-tool-from-scratch-that-will-actually-cut-something.

Welcome back Harold, your insight has been sorely missed.
