Maybe a good weekend!

My son's off school Friday and Monday, my wife and I also took off work. We didn't go on a vacation this year to save some money so we're having a 4 day weekend mini-vacation.

Our plans for either Saturday or Sunday is a theme park, Holiday World, they're a couple of hours away.

I decided to check when the Knob Creek Machine Gun shoot is in Kentucky, hey, it's this weekend! And Holiday world puts us about half way there!

So if things work out right, we'll be at Holiday World one day and the Knob Creek Machine Gun shoot the next day. I'm kind of leaning toward Knob Creek Saturday thinking it will be winding down Sunday, Holiday World should be the same either day.

In fact you want to get to the creek Sat. morning if you can. I never make it in the fall. But I hear its dry right now and they have the bridge fixed. (no mud holes this time) Make me mad and buy yourself a great deal on some rifle parts. IIRC, you're into AR15. They are giving parts for them away right now. There was over production trying to catch up from the scare our moron in chief started last December. Right now, there's a glut of unsold inventory.

Would you be willing to look for an M2HB lock frame and back plate? Only parts I'm missing on this build. I'm also on the look out for a G3 or CETME barrel.

I figured they'd be shutting down Sunday so I'm here at an "Inn" right now, will be heading to the shooting range, ~11 miles away, right after breakfast in the morning.

I'll see if I can find any of the parts you're looking for, I'd kind of like to have a 300 AAC blackout barrel for my AR, I hear if you load a heavy bullet for sub-sonic, I think they call it 300 wisper, thought maybe I could make something quite to try to please the neighbor, or at least not annoy him as much.

Also I'd kind of like to build an AK-47 since 7.62X39 is cheaper than

5.56/223, from what I've found so far.

Rather easy to build. But that pesky tax stamp... Shrug

Would cut down on the shooting noise. Wonder if ATF has been approving these, lately?

Are gun barrels specially made to accept threads for silencers? Are there different hardening procedures, etc?

Some are..most are not. But...the steels used can generally be easily threaded using a simple hand threader from Sears or Harbor Freight. Its hardly rocket science.

I can't figure out what's going on there! Machine guns, they say, fire

1,240,000 rounds of ammo during the weekend, they said, IIRC, 14,000 guests on that weekend, but yet no one was shot, no one was killed, no harm done.

It would seem, according to the evidence, that if guns kill people, and so many dangerous fully automatic assault rifles, firing so many rounds, with so many people present, then either machine guns are the safest guns or Democrat gun controllers are stupid. Seems that guns don't kill people, but killers kill people and some of them use guns. So the political solution is to take the guns from people that don't kill people with them.

I remember reading some where, that when otherwise intelligent people do stupid things (or legislate stupid laws) there is often a hidden agenda in action. I believe that to be the case, with gun control. There is hidden agenda, which they don't openly tell us. but which we can figure out, if we take a while and give it a good try. Now, why would armed elected reps with armed guards and armed services (like the military and DHS and TSA) want the good citizens of USA to be unarmed and unable to defend our selves?
