OT: Last room AC update

Thanks for everyone's help! I now know stuff I didn't know - good thing! I slept well in my 58 deg. bedroom last night. I used an external thermostat (had one) and it shorted the thermistor with a 4.4k resistor. A few cooling cycles to dial it in as not to freeze-up and at 58 deg. I get just a tiny amount of frost on the copper 180's at the sides of the evaporator. It makes a HUGE difference for sleeping with RLS. Some of you will know about Restless Leg Syndrome, it's like having claustrophobia in your own skin. Very annoying, and cold helps me a lot.

if the issue was to chill where you sleep (I missed that part), one approach that would save your electric bill is to use a water bed and chill the water to whatever temp you want - probably somewhere in the high 70s will do the trick.

I want a waterbed but "other" people in the house are convinced it will go through the floors and end up in the basement. It's hard to argue physics with certain people when they know everything.
