Rotary Table Suggestions

Customer has small parts to perform multiple functions on. Probably a total of three steps. Load, drill, tap, unload. Okay... Four steps.

Any suggestions out there on brand, etc? Parts are less than 6" cube size and light weight.

Camco Unipak indexer. A number of them are on Ebay right now. Get the indexer control and the matching rotary table. they will index in 4

90' positions if required. Sticking a pneumatic collet closer on the rotary table will make things go faster when loading/unloading. For neatness sake, run everything off a cheap PLC with some Hall Effect Switches, or even microswitchs.

If you buy a used unit, just make sure you get an indexer with the number of stops you require. The one above makes 12 stops, in other words, it increments 30 degrees at a time. The RDMs are a good choice if your fixtures are going on a dial plate.

There are also several mfrs of pneumatic indexing tables, but Festo is the only name I can recall right now. Thomas Register should turn up a few others. Not as smooth and sexy as a cam indexer, but cheaper, and usually adequate for low speed manual operations with low inertia loads.
