I've been scrounging things since I was eight years old. It drove my mother and dad crazy. Its too bad we can't build a working transporter to trade stuff! ;-)
Right now my 1200 Sq. ft garage, a 12' * 12' wood building, an `18' *
28' metal building, the 12' * 12' laundry building and three spare bedrooms, the large TV room and dining room are full of computers and the one bedroom cottage is almost full, too. People tell me to have too much junk, then come running when they need some oddball part.Health permitting, I will be at our Veteran's Park for the Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00 AM Monday. I want at least a a couple dozen pictures for the Veteran's news website I'm getting ready to launch. The hosting package gives me 200 GB of server space and 2000 GB of transfer per month for $8 a month. I sure don't want to fill it with text! :)
BTW, have you ever considered building an online "Gunner's Surplus World"? I'll bet that you could move a LOT of stuff that way, and give you even more room to practice your scrounging skills. A few decent pictures, a brief description and price would sell a lot of stuff. I'm willing to set it up for you, if you're interested. I do basic web design when I can't work in one of the shops. An example is in the 'Organization' line of this message header. That site will be moved when the Veterans news website goes live. I get up to six domain names in that package, and all can share the web space and transfer.
Also, I finally found what little information I have on my Army buddy Neeley, out there in your neck of the woods. I'll email it to you.
