Tool and die maker's daughter kills herself over a fake MySpace account

Those of us who have internet savvy children, keep in mind that fake accounts, online bullying etc, which are merely annoying for adults, can drive a child to do something stupid and irreversible, as one tool and die maker found out the hard way.

So try to make sure that, first, kids will talk to you when they have problems, and second, try to toughen them emotionally.

This apparently happened about a year ago, but is only now being made public. The kicker, however, is the person who started the whole thing rolling on myspace was the next to next-door neigbor! So, this mid-30's married guy makes up this fake myspace page and is sending all sorts of lovey-dovey messages to his neighbor's 13 year-old daughter! Finally, he just tells her he doesn't want to be her friend anymore, and apparently starts sending all sorts of nasty messages to all the friends listed on her page. they pile on and send nasty messages, too. Now, the entire neighborhood has taken sides, the guy gets a "lawn job" or a smoke bomb, or nasty calls at 3 AM all the time.

I can't believe the cops can't find something to charge him with. Seems like conducting an inappropriate "romantic" relationship with a minor is only illegal if you cross state lines.
