Tis a letter press then
Mark
Maybe a mouse press.
2166: Some kind of cigarette roller? One lever adjusts diameter and another is the pusher to eject the product.
2163: This is about the right configuration for clamping leather belts' glue joints in old-fashioned power belting
2161 Looks perfect for a homemade shower-curtain hook.
That's it!
Far too pretty a wood veneer on the top to be used for such a work-a-day function.
Enjoy, DoN.
What's that object in the inset at the upper left of the second pic?
Thanks, Rich
But it's filthy?
Because of all the creosote.
Just a close-up of the catch
Rich, I think it's a close-up of the catch that holds the press closed at any of several thicknesses. Kerry
That's the latch, the teeth allow it to be closed tight with different thicknesses inside the press.
Cigar press?
2161: a piercing ornament, nose, ear, whatever ?
2163: letter or a paper press?
Still no answer for this one, I'm expecting to hear back from the museum on Monday or Tuesday, 2166 was part of a display that was loaned to the museum by a local tool collector, I'm hoping that he will be able to identify it.
The rest of them were all answered correctly this week:
