I was raised in Hancock/Larium/Eagle Harbor, until the tender age of
9-10, then the family moved to Grayling via a number of other places as Dad was a gypsy road/harbor builder. We settled in Grayling, Dad bought and ran a jewelry store for nearly 30 yrs, and I graduated from highschool there. And of course, spent many of my summers in the UP on the family properties. I left for the military..and have seldom been back, having lived and worked in 39 states and 5 countries since then. Ive lived in my current town since 1983.Gunner
"Pax Americana is a philosophy. Hardly an empire. Making sure other people play nice and dont kill each other (and us) off in job lots is hardly empire building, particularly when you give them self determination under "play nice" rules.
Think of it as having your older brother knock the shit out of you for torturing the cat." Gunner
