Bandsaw/hacksaw wanted

I know of a set of castings - only one owner - may need a spot of rust removal after you recover them from the Chippenham tip ;-)

Alternatively, I bought one of the bench top bandsaws from Warco - works very well & price not outrageous. It was this one:

Thanks Tony, that's very helpful. The Chester seems very similar to the Warco in spec, so I wonder why it's so much cheaper?

If I can't find something second-hand I'll probably go for one of these.

Tony, I'm pretty sure the Chester equivalent to the Warco floor standing model is the one I've got in the workshop, the HV128 - They certainly look identical from the pictures.

For anyone wanting this generic Far East 4x6 saw, the cheapest place is Axminster who do it for £149.95

Anyone in the NW who wants one for nothing, let me know. I bought it secondhand over 15 years ago, replaced it with another secondhand one a while ago. It's lived outside, sometimes covered sometimes not. It'll need a new switch, probably new guide bearings (again) & generally checking over & cleaning up. Nothing wonderful but *free*, collect only & help me carry it across the canal

tell me about it, i spent two days cutting little bits of 5 mm bms, then a day tigging them all together;-)

I was so pissed off, I usually cut these bits out over the course of a month or so, two days with nothing to look forward to except another length of bms and a hacksaw, enough to make you watch daytime telly...

I ran an ad on chris heapies site, got offered a power saw for £250. Only needed a motor and some general tidying!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did get offered a nearok bandsaw like the chester one, for £70. I would rather a power hacksaw[and a vertical bandsaw]. if your interested it's inside the M25[south london]. email me and i will send you the details..

anyone with a power hacksaw for a reasonable price[free is very reasonable]?

Would be ideal, but you're a very long way from Southampton, and with petrol at 80p/litre it would almost be cheaper to buy a new Chester device than to collect (even for free!)

Gillingham thats reasonably close to me. I do have a number for one in croydon, i wrote it down two years ago wonder if he's still got it, sell like hot cakes them power saws;-)

A Bit cheeky (I'm not in the NW, I'm in the midlands), but if The chap that I've just emailed says that I can buy his shaper spares from him in Northwich, can I relieve you of the saw for an appropriate consideration?

PS Is your dock a dry-dock because it's at the end of the canal?
