Facing Cutter

To fit what?

I've got a Russian made face mill with I think 8 square inserts, , more like 75mm dia. I don't know if the inserts are available in the West, but it comes with quite a few spares. Not up to the standard of Iscar or Seco, but it might be better than a pig's trotter. To you, my boy, *fairly* cheap. Or to anyone else if you don't want it. It fits a standard face mill holder, I can check the dia if you're interested. I've got it on a 30INT holder at the moment.

But it works like a charm, I even peripheral mill with it on the CNC mill.

If thats too much then they sometimes come up on ebay as well as the odd box of inserts.

If you're talking about 'horizontal' facing cutters, with a one or one and a quarter inch bore , try eBay. There were lots there recently, going for next to nothing. --

Interstate stuff seems pretty good, I've had some of theirs. Must investigate the mount on the milling cutter I've got for the elcheapo Clarke, see if I can get a better cutter for it, sometime.

Where the split is? Poor men use a fly-cutter for that. They have built their own with little money and have the best results with it.

I've got a Warco Minor round column mill. Thanks for the offer, I've managed to turn up a 50mm facing cutter in pretty good nick, ancient but sharp, so I'll give that a go and see how I get on.
