Is this a forum for civilised technical discussion?

RVMJ is a bitter old woman who has for years sniped at me. She is always on the attack and never has anything pleasant to say. Her outburst below is one example. She is best ignored. She is of no value to any technical discussion.

I agree wholeheartedly.

However, if attacked, I reserve the right to reply.

I repeat a previous observation wrt, "EEng".....

"Why do appeals for civilised behaviour invoke the very worst in co-respondents, especially from the three guilty parties referenced above?"

I merely observe that I responded point-by-point to each technical matter that EEng discussed, but that she's now shut up on technical discussion and has relapsed into the school playground; the school playground which, perhaps, was the whole motivation driving her original post?

I am neither bitter, old, nor female; but this kind of playground name-calling is easily ignored for what it is.

I have corrected your technical mistakes where you have posted these, and I'm sure you don't need me to re-iterate them here. Where you have made other errors, such as 'ham radio' (whatever that is, as you have no licence with that name or authorisation on it) is a 'technical pursuit', forgetting completely that the Amateur Licence is to allow operating and that the technicalities are not licensable activities, I have posted the necessary corrections. Where you have stated opinions, these like all others are fair game in a discussion group, after all, that's what they are for.

That is because I merely act as stated above. If you didn't post in the manner to which you seem to have grown accustomed, then such corrections would not be necessary.

Due to correction of posting style, it is now the 'outburst above'.

That is your choice.

You have never responded to queries such as why the dBsm is the logarithmic ratio of dimension-balancing factors in the radar-range equation (which in themselves have no relation to power) when you continually assert that the dB is 'only ever a ratio of powers' yet quote it yourself as a ratio of voltage! And your defence of 'heat bands' was pathetic.

Why you choose to stick your head in the sand is a decision you have made. When it comes to technical discussions, where I challenge you I best you every time. And I will continue while I have breath in my body to do so. Every technical fault or slip-up will be challenged, and every obfuscation wil be rebutted. Welcome to the future.

no

Nor are you for that matter by your current examples of postings. Marco

Because it is you that is posting. Your previous posts have annoyed many people who now do not believe anything you say and that if you say something is so then it must really be the opposite.

On 18/01/2004 Airy R. Bean opined:-

Gareth, do you ever get the feeling that everyone else is out of step and YOU are the only one in step?

This is exactly how you are perceived to be by the rest of us.

Do you ever feel that _everyone_ is picking on you? Don't you think there might possibly be a good reason for this?

You may well perceive the comments to be playground comments, others see something which is closer to the truth which is that of YOU and you alone resorting to playground mode.

On those rare occasions when you have posted a sensible question or provided a sensible response, what I have seen is you being shown the utmost courtesy.

Basically, it means your whole attitude towards others is wrong. Insults and discourtious comments which are your stock response to anything with which you disagree, achieve nothing and mark you up as an extreme fool.

In every discussion there are bound to be other points of view, likely they will be at odds with your own point of view, but that does not make them automatically wrong just different. If everyone held the same point of view, then there would be nothing worthy of being discussed.

Not in base 2 or 3.

2+2= 100 ,11, or 4

2 becomes 10 in base 2, 10 + 10 =100

2 pints = 10 pints = pissed

10 pints + 10 pints = 100 pints = pissed for a week!
