i have recently bought a myford lathe and have contacted the factory about its date of manufacture and who it was supplied by
they could only tell me it was supplied via someone called BARNILTO OR BARRITTO of york. does anyone know anything about them?were they dealers in machine tools?

I stand to be corrected but there is a hardware shop in York called Barnitts. I recall in the dim and distant past a Myford in their shop window. That would be 25 years ago. Do not recall any more recents instances

that may be the one,myford told me that the entry in the book is very faded. the lathe left the factory in june 1973, and was sent to them.i bought it from a small village on the outskirts of york during last summer
do you know how long they sold lathes for?

There is a letter/number on the back of the machine at the tailstock end.Quote this and they may be able to help you.
